When Jesus comes to rule on the earth there will be peace on
this earth. But we do not have to wait
for His return to have peace. We can let Jesus,the Prince of Peace, rule in our
hearts now and allow there to be an ongoing increase of His government and
peace in our individual lives. Jesus came to bring peace into the hearts of
men.
Isaiah 9:6-7 For
unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon
his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty
God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. 7 Of the
increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the
throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with
judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD
of hosts will perform this.
We can let the peace of God rule our hearts now. This means that we let the peace of God be
the governing or arbitrating force within our lives.
Colossians 3:15 And let the peace of God rule in your
hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
Peace is a fruit of the Spirit that lives inside of us. So we can choose to let that fruit have
rule. We can do that by submitting to
the Spirit inside of us and letting Him be the ruler, governor of what we do or
don’t do throughout the day.
Galatians 2:22-23
But the fruit of the Spirit is
love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23
Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. 24 And they that
are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. 25
If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
