The Uncreated Creator

As I listened to a teacher yesterday talking about the infiniteness and unmeasurableness of our God, he spoke of our Lord God Jehovah as the “Uncreated Creator.” I have continued to think about that.

Genesis 1:1 “In the beginning God, created the heaven and the earth.” In the beginning there was God. Before him there was nothing, just God. If we don’t believe that He alone was in the beginning and was the creator of all things then who was before Him? Who created Him? Somewhere there had to be a creator that had no creator. So why not the God of the Bible who is proclaimed to be the creator. Has any other ever come forward and proclaimed themselves to be the creator of all things? Has any other proven themselves to be true and faithful down through thousands of years? Has any document other than the Bible stood for centuries in spite of many attempts to destroy it? Now I am getting into another subject...the Bible as the infallible Word of God. I think I will stop here and let God speak for Himself.

Isaiah 40:12-14 Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance? Who hath directed the Spirit of the LORD, or being his counsellor hath taught him? With whom took he counsel, and who instructed him, and taught him in the path of judgment, and taught him knowledge, and shewed to him the way of understanding?

Psalm 33:6-9 By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth. He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: he layeth up the depth in storehouses. Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him. For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.

Jeremiah 51:15-16 He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heaven by his understanding. When he uttereth his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens; and he causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth: he maketh lightnings with rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of his treasures.

Hebrews 11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

John 1:1-3 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
