Title of the Blog

I chose the title for this blog because it was the name I received from the Lord for a ministry. That was about ten years ago. When I was considering starting a blog this name came to mind. Thus the title became End Time Harvester.

I truly believe we are in the end times and that there will be a great harvest at the end of the age just as Jesus said in the following passage.

Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field. 37He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man; 38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one; 39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels. 40As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world. 41The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; 42And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. 43Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear. Matthew 13:36-43

Nehemiah's Arrival Grieves The Enemy

Nehemiah 2:9-10 Then I came to the governors beyond the river, and gave them the king’s letters. Now the king had sent captains of the army and horsemen with me. 10When Sanballat the Horonite, and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, heard of it, it grieved them exceedingly that there was come a man to seek the welfare of the children of Israel.

When Nehemiah arrived in Judah to restore Jerusalem, the enemies of Israel became upset. Nehemiah had not yet even done anything, he just showed up. The enemies were grieved "that there was come a man to seek the welfare of the children of Israel."

Whenever we begin a ministry or begin to look out for the welfare of others the enemy is going to get upset. We may not have even done anything yet, but may have just expressed our intent and the enemy will begin to raise up opposition against us. We always need to be aware of this a ready for it. Like Nehemiah we need to press on in spite of anything the enemy may try to raise up against us. We can be assured that God will fight for us.

In a similar way when a person gives their life to Christ and the Holy Spirit comes to abide within, there is one that has come to seek the welfare of the believer. As a result the enemy will raise up in opposition to the new believer to deter him/her from taking the next step in following the Lord God.

Nehemiah-Prayer and Spiritual Warfare

I know I have written quite a bit about the spiritual war we are in. I have done it because it is a constant battle. As long as we are on this earth that battle will continue. Satan is called "the enemy of our souls" by many because that is exactly what he is. His greatest desire is to see each one of us fail to continue in our walk with the Lord God Jehovah. He comes to "steal, kill, and destroy."

Recently I led the Tuesday evening Bible study while our pastor was in Ghana, West Africa. During those three weeks we looked at a few chapters in the book of Nehemiah. Primarily we looked at the constant war with the enemies of Israel and of Nehemiah as God's servant. For at least the next couple of posts I would like to take a look at some of that here as well.

One of the key things about Nehemiah is the fact that he was a man of prayer. We see in the first chapter of the book of Nehemiah, that when he received the news about the deplorable condition of Jerusalem and the Jewish people in his homeland, the first thing he did was pray.

Prayer is so important to spiritual warfare. Ephesians 6 is where Paul tells us to take on the armor of God. Right after he tells us to take up "the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God." (verse 17) He says: "Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints." (verse. 18)

That is the part that is often left out when looking at the armor of God.

The Offensive Cross

For many non-Christians the cross is offensive. Currently there is a case before the Supreme Court that wants a cross removed from a veterans memorial. That cross has been there since 1934, now someone finds it offensive and thinks it is unconstitutional. (http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=89785)

Last week some people at Penn State were offended by a "school spirit" t-shirt. They were offended because the design was in the shape of a cross, even though nothing on it had anything to do with Christianity. (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,569665,00.html)

I find it amazing that these people are so offended by the cross. My guess is that the spirits of the kingdom of darkness are the catalyst behind the offense. It was at the cross that Satan thought he had his greatest victory, but it turned out to be his greatest defeat.

Colossians 2:14-15 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; 15And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

The Overwhelming Love of God

God is good and His love endures forever. This is something I have meditated upon quite a bit recently. Forever is a long time. God's love has endured a lot of things over a long period of time and yet His love still continues.

God's love for me has endured through my many failures and sins. Through the many ways in which I have disappointed God. Through the heartache I surely have caused Him. God's love has endured through the outright rebellion in my heart that manifests at times. Yet His love for me continues on and on and on.

Not only does His love for me continue but for all of mankind. It is the love of God that sent Jesus to the cross not only for me but for all the world. John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

I guess if God's love stopped then there would no longer be God because God is love (1 John 4:8, 16). So love has been as long as God has been and will continue to be as long as God continues to be.

Lamentations 3:22-24 It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. 23They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. 24The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.

Micah 7:18-19 Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy. 19He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.

Oh praise the wonderful name of the Lord God Almighty for His great and wondrous love!!!!

The Example of Daniel

We have a mandate to be lights in the darkness that surrounds us. We may think it is too difficult or it has become too dark or give any number of other excuses. Fortunately we have the example of Daniel.

Daniel was carried off from his homeland of Israel to the pagan land of Babylon. There he was trained in the teachings of that society. In the midst of that training he chose to not defile himself with the meats and wine. (Dan. 1:8) At the conclusion of the training he was found to be ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers of the land. (Dan. 1:20)

Later, as a result of God showing Daniel the king's dream and giving him the interpretation of that dream King Nebuchadnezzar made him ruler over the province and chief of the governors over all the wise men of Babylon. (Dan. 2:48) You might think that the power in addition to living amongst pagans and ruling over those involved in occult practices may corrupt him. But Daniel remained steadfast and continued to walk in wisdom and revelation from the Lord God Almighty.

Even once the Mede and Persians conquered Babylon, Daniel continued in a place of ruler-ship and maintained his relationship with the Lord. King Darius made Daniel the first of three presidents in the land because of his "excellent spirit". Being put in this place of leadership caused others to be jealous and seek to have Daniel killed by making it illegal to pray to anyone but the king. They knew Daniel was so committed to prayer that this would surely get him. Sure enough, even though it was illegal Daniel continued his practice of praying three times a day and ended up in the lions’ den. We all know how that turned out. Daniel was kept safe by the angel of the Lord and the men who had tried to get Daniel killed were eaten by the lions. (Dan. ch. 6)

So we see in the life of Daniel a man that from a very young age stood firmly and let his light shine as a man of God. The result was for kings to acknowledge the living God as the supreme ruler that He is because Daniel remained steadfast in the midst of a pagan land.

Check out these results:

Daniel 2: 47 The king answered unto Daniel, and said, Of a truth it is, that your God is a God of gods, and a Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, seeing thou couldest reveal this secret.

Daniel 4:37 Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.

Daniel 6:25-27 Then king Darius wrote unto all people, nations, and languages, that dwell in all the earth; Peace be multiplied unto you. 26I make a decree, That in every dominion of my kingdom men tremble and fear before the God of Daniel: for he is the living God, and stedfast for ever, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed, and his dominion shall be even unto the end. 27He delivereth and rescueth, and he worketh signs and wonders in heaven and in earth, who hath delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.

Light Of the World

Philippians 2:14-16 Do all things without murmurings and disputings: 15That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; 16Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.

We are admonished to shine as lights in the world. In the spiritual darkness that seems to be growing in our nation we as Christians need to let our lights shine to push back the darkness. Light always overcomes darkness.

Several years ago, when I lived near Boston, I was concerned about the spiritual darkness the permeated the region. I knew that many years ago that was not the case. One day as I drove by an old church in a particularly dark area, I asked the Lord why it had become so dark. The immediate answer I heard was that the church had let its light go out. So I began to pray that God would rekindle the fire that had once burned their that the light would shine again.

Matthew 5:14-16 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. 15Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. 16Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Good or Evil?

When thinking about something like reiki you may be inclined to think that it cannot be all that bad if it is used to heal someone. Again the problem is that with the healing will also come a download of demons and on open door to demonic power into your life. Not good!! In the long run it is quite evil.

It is just like satan to dress something up that is really harmful to us to make it look good. Isn't that what deception is all about?

Genesis 3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

God had clearly stated that they were not to eat of the fruit of that tree. God knew that although it looked "good" and seemed like it would be harmless, it was far from good or harmless. It was not good at all. Adam and Eve were deceived by the appearance of the thing that had clearly been forbidden.

In thinking about this, I also think about the Lord of the Rings books/movies. I never read the books. But I did see the first movie. I was told it had a good Christian theme to it. I personally had a problem finding the "Christian theme" in it. Some Christians have become quite angry at me for making such a statement. Please let me explain why I say that.

Yes, there was a theme of good versus evil. But Ido not see that as necessarily a Christian theme. Didn't our problems really begin with partaking of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil?

In the Lord of the Rings the story revolved around a good wizard and a bad/evil wizard. There is no such thing as a "good" wizard. All wizards operate from the same power source. They operate from a satanic power source. Thus they are not "good".

The Bible is very clear that we are to have nothing to do with wizardry or any kind of occult power. God is to be our source for all things.

Deuteronomy 18:9-12 When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations. 10There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, 11Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. 12For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.

We are living in a day where there is more and more acceptance of things that come from a satanic power source. It is constantly in the media that bombards us. We must be careful to keep our spiritual armor on and be lovers of the truth so that we will not be drawn away into deception.

What Is The Power Source???

Last week I listened to an internet broadcast on which they were talking about reiki, which is used to heal by release of spiritual power through the hands. Sound familiar?

Luke 4:40 Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them. (speaking of Jesus Christ)

Mark 6:18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. (speaking of Christians)

Satan wants to be like God. That is what caused his downfall. He cannot do anything original. But he is great at copying what God does. Satan is a great counterfeiter.

I have encountered reiki on three occasions. Two of the times were in situations where I was receiving treatment on my back--chiropractor and osteopath. Unfortunately at the chiropractor I was not forceful enough in my objections and there was an attempt to perform this on me. I prayed against it as the reiki master tried to release her power and I prayed and renounced it and repented for having let them even attempt. I also prayed for the release from every demon that may have gotten access to me through this. The osteopath tried it without telling me what he was doing, but I recognized it and began to pray against it. Again I prayed later for a complete release from anything demonic, pleading the blood of Jesus over my life

My other encounter with reiki was during a break in a meeting I was at. One of the ladies attending it mentioned that she was trained in reiki. So the leader the meeting was trying to get me to try to let this woman heal me. I refused. She asked if I just did not want to be well. My response was that I wanted to be well, but my problem with reiki was the source of the power behind it. She did not press it any further. I was surprised she did not ask me what I meant.

The source behind reiki is demonic power. Anyone who opens themselves up to this form of healing will also be opening themselves up to demonic spirits. If you have ever opened yourself up to reiki, please renounce it and repent in Jesus name. You may want to ask someone who has an understanding of these things to also pray with you for the full release from any demonic spirits that may have come in through this and for a closing of any open doorways where demonic powers have had access into you.

Spectators or Participants?

There is a man named Russ Dizdar who ministers a lot to people who have been involved in witchcraft or who have suffered Satanic ritual abuse (SRA). In a recent internet broadcast, he mentioned that a coven leader once said to him that their coven meetings are much different than most of the church meetings. The coven leader said that all the people attending the meetings are fully committed to their cause and that all in attendance are fully engaged in the rituals that they are performing. These rituals are done for the purpose of releasing demonic power into areas, which they call "dirtying the air", or against specific individuals.

Unfortunately this coven leader is probably correct. So often people come to church meetings to fulfill their religious duty. How often have I gone to a church service and only been half- heartedly involved? Or how often have I been to a church meeting that is more of a time of "spectatorship" rather than involvement of the people there in truly meeting with God and the release of His kingdom power into the surrounding area? Oh God, please help us as your church, your bride, to fully embrace your kingdom, to fully be about the business of seeing your kingdom come on this earth. We pray the Lord's Prayer saying, "Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven."

(Russ Didizdar's website is http://www.shatterthedarkness.net/
There is a lot there, a lot of programs you can download and listen to. I have learned a lot from Russ in the past year. Please do not be put off by his website. I must admit I was at first because of some of the pictures on it. He does alot of outreach to very demonically bound and deceived people. But there is also much in his teachings that can be learned by the body of Christ. He is teaching and sharing from 30+ years of ministry. The more I listen to him the more respect I have for him. He is sound Biblically in every bit of teaching that I have heard from him. I have also worked my way through his course The Black Awakening and am currently starting through his course titled Confronting the Powers. I highly recommend him and his ministry.)

Prayer/Intercession

I am going to try to do much better with blogging. I was away, with little internet access, for two weeks and when I got back I just haven't really gotten back to blogging. I started this blog because I felt a need to share some things that are important in these end times.

There is much going on around us daily in the spirit realm that we are often unaware of. It is my prayer that I and you and others will become more and more aware of what is happening around us so that we can do our part to stand against it. It is important to take a stand against the work of the evil one not only for ourselves, but on behalf of others by way of intercession. I have personally been sensing a prodding from the Lord to be more involved in intercessory prayer than I have been in the past few years. I believe we are all called to pray. Some are perhaps called to spend more time in prayer/intercession than others. If Jesus is our pattern for our lives, then prayer is something that has got to be central to our lives. (Mark 1:35, 6:46Luke 5:16) If Jesus, the very son of God, had to spend that much time in prayer, how much more you and I??

I believe it is because of this time spent with the Father that Jesus was able to do what He saw the Father doing. I don't believe He was surprised by the happenings of each day, because He had a clue as to what was coming because of the intimacy with the Father. Jesus certainly was not unaware of the spiritual battle going on around Him all the time.

Included is praying for others in light of the work of the enemy against them. (Luke 22:31-32; John 17:13-17) We need to cover one another in prayer daily. God please help us to be faithful to do this.

Ephesians 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints

Shield Of Faith

The enemy of our souls is called "the prince of the power of the air" in Ephesians 2:2. That means he and his forces are at work in the air all around us all the time. Thus we are constantly in an atmosphere where we have forces that are contrary to us at work all around us. These forces do not like us and will do any thing they can to destroy us. If they cannot destroy us, they will at least try everything they can to try to trip us up or weaken us.

God has made provision for us to be able to stand in the midst of these forces. Later, in Ephesians chapter 6 Paul tells us to put on the full armor of God that we may be able to stand against all the wiles of the devil. One of those pieces of armor that Paul speaks of is the shield of faith by which we can quench ALL the fiery darts of the wicked. Daily we need to make sure our shield of faith is in place. Notice also that this shield will quench ALL the firey darts. Not just some. Not just maybe. But of a certainty will quench those fiery darts that are sure to come our way.

Notice that Paul also said "above all, taking the shield of faith." It seems that this is more important than the other parts of our defensive armor.

Ephesians 6:10-18 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Chrislam!!!???

Tonight while watching a show an PBS I was shocked. One of the stories they did was about a church in Nigeria where they preach from the Bible and the Koran. They call their religion Chrislam. The people claim to have recieved miracles through prayer at this church. Of course the people on PBS were extolling the virtues of such a church that would combine these two religions. They talked to an "expert" anthropologist who showed her great lack of knowledge as far as I am concerned. She showed that she had no real understanding of the Christian faith.

Here is a link to the clip and an article about it: http://www.pbs.org/newshour/extra/video/blog/2009/05/chrislam_combines_christian_an.html

One of my thoughts about this is that this is just a step toward a One World Religion. In the end of this age, just before Jesus returns to set up His kingdom on the earth, the Bible indicates that the world will be under the leadership of the person we call the "Antichrist." This man of lawlessness, son of perdition, beast, etc. as he is referred to in the scriptures, will rule over a One World Government. Working alongside this "antichrist" will be the "false prophet." I believe this false prophet will preside over a One World Religion. There are different "interfaith" organizations in the world working toward bringing all the faiths together.

I know that Christians are often looked upon as intolerant of the other religions or as narrow minded. But the Bible is very clear that there is only ONE way to God the Father and that is through Jesus Christ.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

A couple of scriptures that come to mind in particular concerning chrislam are the following:

2 Corinthians 6:14-18 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? 15And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? 16And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 17Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, 18And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

Galatians 1:8-9 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

I would also have to say that the miracles that the people in that chrislam "church" experienced were lying signs and wonders.

Matthew 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

They overcame him by.....

Again I apologize for having such a long period of time between posts. And once again it is primarily due to my health. Last Tuesday night my parents were visiting from out of state. In the process of preparing for them to come....cooking, cleaning, etc....I pushed my body far beyond its current limits. Then on Thursday I had some injections in my spine. I am finally starting to recover from overdoing it. Also I am starting to feel some positive effects of the injections. Praise God!!!

What I would like to write about tonight is something I have thought about quite often. I thought about it alot immediately after 9/11. The muslims are quite willing to give their lives for their cause (religion). But I wonder in these United States how many Christians are willing to lay down their lives for our "cause?" People in other countries do it everyday. We have not yet had to face that question here. But I am relatively certain we in this country will have to face that in the not too distant future. I have aske myself the question, "Am I willing to give my life for Jesus Christ?" I am as certain as I can be that the answer is, "Yes."

There is a verse in Revelation 12 that is often quoted. Although generally the last phrase is left off. Here is the quote: "they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony." The last phrase is an extremely important part if someone is to be a true disciple, a true overcomer in God's kingdom. Do you know what that missing phrase is? When I have asked this question only about 25% of the people have been able to finish the verse.

Revelation 12:10-11 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. 11And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

To be a true disciple it is necessary to love not your life unto the death. As a Christian our lives are no longer our own. Jesus told us it was necessary to take up our cross. In that day the cross signified death. As we know Jesus was crucified on a Roman cross. Our death is a daily death to our own will, to our desires and a submission to the will and desire of our God. I tend to believe that if we daily take up our cross we would be willing to pay the ultimate price of martyrdom.

Luke 9:23-25 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. 24For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it. 25For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?

The Seal Of God

I personally am not convinced of a pre-tribulation rapture (catching up of the church). During the time of the tribulation, I believe we will see God's supernatural protection of His people over and over again. Just like in the book of Exodus, as the plagues/judgments were poured out, the Hebrew people in the land of Goshen were protected.

One of the reasons I believe this is because of what is recorded in Revelation 9:1-12. At the sounding of the fifth trumpet an angel, probably a fallen angel, opens the bottomless pit and releases a horrible, monstrous horde of creatures that will torment people on the earth for five months. But these creatures have limits put on them by God. One of those limits is that they are not to hurt the people who have "the seal of God in their foreheads."

Concerning end time things we hear much about the mark of the beast, but we seldom hear about the seal of God placed on His own people.

Revelation 9:1-12 And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit. 2And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit. 3And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power. 4And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads. 5And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man. 6And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them. 7And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men. 8And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions. 9And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle. 10And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their tails: and their power was to hurt men five months. 11And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon. 12One woe is past; and, behold, there come two woes more hereafter.

Triumph Of The Two Witnesses

Recently as I was reading through the book of Revelation I noticed something that I had missed before. In Revelation 11 when it is talking about the two witnesses, it tells us that everyone who attempted to hurt them would be killed by fire coming out of their mouths. I think that it is not literal fire coming out of their mouths, but by their decree these people are killed. But then there comes a time when the beast that ascends out the bottomless pit is able to overcome them and kill them. At first my thought is how can that be?? But then I notice this phrase "when they shall have finished their testimony." The beast has no power over them until their mission is finished and then God allows the beast to have the power to kill them. As always God has the final word.

We also see here that the two witnesses don't stay dead very long. Right in front of the people who had been celebrating the defeat of these two who had brought them so much trouble, these two come back to life. Then they rise up into heaven. Can you imagine the fear and terror that those people watching will be experiencing?

In this we see that once again God is in control and He wins.

Revelation 11:3-13 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth. 4These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth. 5And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed. 6These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will. 7And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them. 8And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. 9And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves. 10And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth. 11And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them. 12And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them. 13And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.

God Wins Every Time

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

We each have a call/commission from the Lord. The enemy will try to take us out or seek to destroy that call/commission, even as he did with Joseph. But God used all that was brought against Joseph by the enemy through his brothers, Potiphar's wife, etc. to train him. God used all these things that were thrown at him to prepare him and get him in the right place, at the right time to fulfill his calling of saving many. Joseph was able to save his family, the nation of Israel.

Genesis 45:4-8 And Joseph said unto his brethren, Come near to me, I pray you. And they came near. And he said, I am Joseph your brother, whom ye sold into Egypt. 5Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither: for God did send me before you to preserve life. 6For these two years hath the famine been in the land: and yet there are five years, in the which there shall neither be earing nor harvest. 7And God sent me before you to preserve you a posterity in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance. 8So now it was not you that sent me hither, but God: and he hath made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt.

Genesis 50:19-20 And Joseph said unto them, Fear not: for am I in the place of God? 20But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.

Whatever the enemy throws at people God can use it for good. Like one big chess match, satan makes a move declaring, "Check," but God always has a counter move to block what the enemy had planned. The enemy never gets to declare, "Check mate!" But there is coming a day when God will declare, "Check mate!" That will be the end of satan's work as he is bound in chains in the bottomless pit.

Revelation 20:1-3 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. 2And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, 3And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.

Remember satan is no match for God. They are not on a level playing field. God wins every time. God created satan and has full authority over him.

Revelation-A Book Of Worship

When I first heard someone say that the book of Revelation was a book of worship I had my doubts. But the woman that made that statement was well respected in the Lord. She had an amazing walk with God and had been in ministry for many years.

In 1987, I had the privilege of going to a meeting in Avoca, NY, where Hattie Hammond was preaching. That night she made the statement that Revelation is a book of worship. I don't remember anything else she said that night, not even the topic on which she was sharing.

During the days following that meeting I read the book of Revelation and found that she was indeed correct. Worship is not something I would have thought I would have found consistently in the book of Revelation.

Here are some examples, i.e. glimpses into worship before the throne of God:

Revelation 4:8-11 And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come. 9And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever, 10The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, 11Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

Revelation 5:8-14 And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints. 9And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; 10And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth. 11And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands; 12Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing. 13And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever. 14And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever.

Revelation 7:9-12 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; 10And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb. 11And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God, 12Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.

These are just a few of the sections in which worship is expressed. I would encourage you to read the book of Revelation to find the other passages in which worship is recorded. After you do, I think you will agree that Revelation is indeed a book of worship.

Blessing In The Book of Revelation

When I say the Book of Revelation, as in the last book of the Bible, what do you think of?

Probably you think of end times, scary stuff, too difficult to understand.....These are all things I have heard from people. I used to think that same way too, but I do not any more. As I have read it over and over I have found it easier and easier to read and have found there is depth to the book, much to learn and rejoice about.

Because of the things I mentioned above many people avoid reading the book of Revelation. If you are among those people you are missing out on a blessing. It is the one book of the Bible that specifically says there is a blessing for reading and heeding what is written in it.

Revelation 1:3 Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.

Often people call it the book of revelations. It is not a book of many revelations. It is one revelation. It is the Revelation (singular) of the Jesus Christ.

Revelation 1:1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:

The entire book is the revelation of Jesus Christ. Too often we think of this book as the revelation of lucifer/satan and the antichrist. It is really the revelation of Jesus and His victory over the forces of darkness. Check it out if you don't believe me. Check it out even if you do believe me. You will be blessed.

One more thing.....revelation is translated from the Greek word "apoákalupsis" which means disclosure, unveiling. It comes from a word that means to take the cover off. So Revelation is the unveiling, the disclosure of, taking the cover off Jesus Christ.

I am sure we have all heard the word apocalypse used when referring to disasters or terrible events of the end times. I find that very unfortunate in light of the meaning of the root Greek word. I tend to think that it is part of the plan of the enemy of our souls, to try to distort what the book of Revelation is really about. By so doing he is robbing many of the blessings found in this book that are important for these days in which we live.

So I would like to challenge you to not miss out on any more blessings. Please make a point of reading Revelation. I would like to further challenge you to read it through at least once a month (or listen to it).

Stay Awake

It has been almost an entire week since I last wrote. For anyone who had come by looking for something new, I apologize. I haven't gotten much done this week, because I have not been feeling well. I seem to be dealing with a sinus infection and a flare up of fibromyalgia. It is my is my own fault. I did too much 4 days in a row and have been paying for it for 5 days.

Even so God is still good! He is still on the throne as always!!

I continue to think about things concerning the end times, because I strongly believe we are in the end times. Therefore the many passages and warnings in scripture concerning this time are especially important to us during these days. I believe this is a time when we need to be very alert in the spirit.

Matthew 24:42-47 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.

Jesus tells us here to "watch", to stay awake. That does not mean in the natural. We would all be walking zombies. No, He is telling us to not let our guard down, to continually keep our eyes open, to be alert in our spirit, and to be about the work that God has placed before us to do. So that when He returns we are looking for Him and have not been led away from the path that He has laid out for us, we will not have been deceived as was talked about in the last blog.

There will be a reward for the vigilance with which we live and serve.

Let No Man Deceive You

When Jesus was asked what would be the sign of His coming. The first thing He said to His disciples was "Take heed that no man deceive you." This is recorded in Matthew 24, Mark 13, and in Luke 21. Jesus repeated this admonition as He talked about the various signs of the end times that we should be aware of. He spoke specifically that many would come in His name and deceive many.

In 2 Thessalonians Paul warns the people of Thessalonica not to be deceived when he was talking to them about end time things. As I prepared to lead a Bible study on this passage I looked up the meaning of the word "deceive" in the Strong's Concordance. I found that it means "to cause to roam from safety, truth, or virtue." Isn't that interesting? Think about that for a minute.........Isn't that what the enemy is always trying to do to us as Christians? He is always trying to get us off the path that God has laid out for us...that straight and narrow path that leads unto life. When we get off that path we are deceived.....we roam from safety, truth and virtue.

Father, I pray for each person who reads this that You will cause them to stay on that straight and narrow path. And if by chance they have strayed please guide them back onto that path that you have for them.

Discerning the Signs of the Times

Matthew 16:1-4 The Pharisees also with the Sadducees came, and tempting desired him that he would shew them a sign from heaven. He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red. And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times? A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed.

In this passage Jesus is rebuking these Jewish religious leaders of that day for being able to tell the weather by signs they see in the sky, yet failing to have any understanding of the day in which they lived. They had seen signs, miracles and healings, Jesus had done. If they had not seen them, at least they had heard about them. Here they are asking Jesus to perform yet one more. These signs were not being done just for entertainment or some show. These miracles/healings/signs were for the purpose of demonstrating the kingdom of God, God’s ruler ship over all.

These religious rulers were missing the sign that was right in front of them….their promised Messiah. They were looking for his earthly kingdom to be established, which will be established in its fullness when Jesus comes the second time. The Old Testament testified of the Messiah’s first coming also, as the suffering servant. On the road to Emmaus Jesus expounded these scriptures to His disciples (Luke 24:25-27 Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken: Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory? And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.) These religious rulers completely missed it.

In our day it is important that we be aware of the signs of the times in which we live. While here on the earth Jesus told His disciples about many of the signs of His imminent return.
I personally want to be aware of the time in which I am living and be ready and waiting for Him at the time of His return.

Oh Lord, help us to have an understanding of the times and prepare ourselves accordingly.

The Uncreated Creator

As I listened to a teacher yesterday talking about the infiniteness and unmeasurableness of our God, he spoke of our Lord God Jehovah as the “Uncreated Creator.” I have continued to think about that.

Genesis 1:1In the beginning God, created the heaven and the earth.” In the beginning there was God. Before him there was nothing, just God. If we don’t believe that He alone was in the beginning and was the creator of all things then who was before Him? Who created Him? Somewhere there had to be a creator that had no creator. So why not the God of the Bible who is proclaimed to be the creator. Has any other ever come forward and proclaimed themselves to be the creator of all things? Has any other proven themselves to be true and faithful down through thousands of years? Has any document other than the Bible stood for centuries in spite of many attempts to destroy it? Now I am getting into another subject...the Bible as the infallible Word of God. I think I will stop here and let God speak for Himself.

Isaiah 40:12-14 Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance? Who hath directed the Spirit of the LORD, or being his counsellor hath taught him? With whom took he counsel, and who instructed him, and taught him in the path of judgment, and taught him knowledge, and shewed to him the way of understanding?

Psalm 33:6-9 By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth. He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: he layeth up the depth in storehouses. Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him. For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.

Jeremiah 51:15-16 He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heaven by his understanding. When he uttereth his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens; and he causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth: he maketh lightnings with rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of his treasures.

Hebrews 11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

John 1:1-3 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

Creator God

Romans 1:18-21 NKJV
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.

From the very beginning God has revealed Himself to man through His creation, so that man is without excuse. Man cannot claim that he had no clue that there was a God. Man cannot claim that he did not have a clue that their was a creator and that creator is the Lord God Jehovah.

Yet down through the centuries man has chosen to deny God's existence and choose to make god's of his own choosing. Men have chosen to take things created by God and make them be the god he served. As a result man has fallen into more and more gross sin, as we read in the remaining part of the first chapter of Romans.

We can see even in the United States as we as a nation have chosen to embrace evolutionary theory in place of the truth of God as Creator, we have been in a downward spiral into more and more gross sin.

As science has proven the complexity of life, even the complexity of even one cell, I find it hard to believe there is not a Creator. I find it hard to understand how anyone can say that such complex organisms have come about by chance.

Oh Lord God Jehovah, help us to daily see and acknowledge You in all that You have created.

Independence...Good???

Today is Independence Day. Declaring our independence from an oppressive king was probably a good thing for us as a nation. But there is a King that is the ruler over all kings that most have declared their independence from.

Luke 19: 11-14 “And as they heard these things, he added and spake a parable, because he was nigh to Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God should immediately appear. He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return. And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come. But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us.”

Jesus went to the cross, died, rose again, and ascended into heaven. From His throne in heaven where He has received His kingdom, Jesus will return to set up His kingdom in its fullness on the earth.

In the mean time many citizens have declared their independence. They have said “we will not have this man to reign over us. We choose to run our own lives. In fact we are seeking to become gods” (the great new age mantra).

If only, mankind could realize that dependence on this King, a benevolent ruler with our best interests at heart, is far better than trying to rule our own lives. This King is in fact the very one who created mankind. So He is Creator and King. (I will address our failure to acknowledge Him as Creator in another blog.) In His love and desire for us, He has given us a free will to choose to allow Him to rule over us in love. This love is far beyond anything we can even imagine. To choose to allow His ruler ship over our lives is the best thing we can ever do for ourselves.

Waiting For Christ's Return

As I prepared to lead Bible study last night one verse that stuck out was 2 Thessalonians 3:5 "And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ."

My prayer is: Lord God, daily direct my heart into Your love. May I daily experience Your love in new measures and out that experiencing of Your love may I consistently let it flow out to others.

I don't believe God ever gives us anything to just consume it upon ourselves. We are blessed to be a blessing.

The second part of that verse is what struck me most....."into the patient waiting for Christ. "

Oh God, direct my heart into patient waiting for Your return.

I don't believe that patient waiting is an inactive waiting. It is a diligent daily pressing on with a heart that is right with the Lord, ready to meet Him in the hour of His return. Jesus said, "Therefore be ye also ready, for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh." Matthew 24:44

That patient waiting, I believe, has in it the rest of God. From what we read in the scriptures there will be much turmoil in the world in the time of the end. But as children of God we can walk in a place of peace and rest in Him that is beyond comprehension.

Lord help us to walk in that peace and rest...steadfast in You ...knowing we are well loved ....patiently waiting for Your return. Amen.

Beginning of something new for me

Although I would not consider myself a "writer" I will attempt to do just that here. In the days, weeks, and months ahead I will be sharing things that are on my mind/heart. Most often it will probably things for scripture that I am pondering or that I feel like God is speaking to me about that I would like to share. Other times perhaps I will share things that I am a bit outraged about.

Well, if you come by to check this out from time to time you will find out what all I end up blogging/writing about. I will also find out what all I will be blogging about.

I hope you find this to be a place where you can receive encouragement.
